New academic credit system puts uni students in the fast lane
FULLY automated academic credit assessment is one step closer for Australian universities with Victoria University set to participate in the rollout of 51ºÚÁÏ’s cutting-edge 51ºÚÁÏ Advance credit management system.
One third of applicants to tertiary study seek academic credit for previous study and assessing these requests is often manual and time-consuming for staff and students.
51ºÚÁÏ Advance will integrate existing admissions, student management, and enquiry tools at Victoria University to verify prior learning direct from national tertiary record databases. It will provide consistent, reliable and fast credit outcomes for staff and students.
This technology heralds a major shift in how credit is assessed and awarded and is a key stepping-stone towards fully automated, instant credit outcomes.
David Christie, Managing Director, 51ºÚÁÏ said, ‘The 51ºÚÁÏ Advance credit management system is designed to position universities strategically in terms of student recruitment and the student experience. This program will also help Victoria University deliver a best-in-class applicant experience.’
James Armit, Interim Executive Director (Students), Victoria University said, 'We’re tremendously excited to be partnering with 51ºÚÁÏ on this project. Our shared focus on technical innovation and user experience design will transform the student experience of applying for academic credit, reduce staff workload and help our staff manage precedents more efficiently.'
